1964 the Tribute is a Beatles' tribute band that was formed in 1982. They have performed over 2900 shows, released albums and released videos. 1964 the Tribute’s Mark Benson as John Lennon noted that the band pays attention just as much to clothes and musical equipment as they do the music. Benson plays a Rickenbacker guitar like that used by Lennon. And naturally, Benson and fellow musicians studied every Beatles video to perfect stage movement. While touring nationwide they were voted "Best Major Concert Act" and "Best Contemporary Act" by the readers of Campus Activities Today Magazine.1964 the Tribute strive for authenticity in their portrayal of the Beatles but not everything they do is the same. Two areas that differ are sound quality and set length. Due to advanced sound technology, the sound quality of 1964 the Tribute is more spectacular than what was available for the Beatles. The set length of 1964 the Tribute is also longer than what the Beatles presented to their fans. They perform in 45-minute sets rather than 30-minute sets. Rolling Stone magazine has called 1964, "The best Beatles tribute ever."
