Phillip Labonte formed the metalcore band All That Remains, as a side project while he was lead singer for Shadows Fall. He left Shadows Fall in 1998 and committed himself to All That Remains. The group played shows and recorded a demo, which landed them a deal with Prosthetic Records. The band's debut, Behind Silence and Solitude, prompted DigitalMetal.com to hail the group as "one of the premier melodic death metal acts this side of the Atlantic." Since the release of the first album, ATR have toured the United States three times, including tours with the Crown and Darkest Hour. Their most recent album, The Fall of Ideals, was released in July 2006. The album is considered to be the band's breakthrough release, as it entered the Billboard 200 charts at No. 75, selling almost 13,000 copies in its first week. The band has achieved further success since the release of the popular video game Guitar Hero II. Game creators deemed that the All That Remains song Six would be the hardest song to play in the game, which has inadvertently earned the band a more diverse audience. The band is teaming up with the metal band from Orlando, Trivium. They formed in 2000 and is one of the most notable bands in the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. The band comprises vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy, guitarist Corey Beaulieu, bassist Paolo Gregoletto, and drummer Travis Smith. Since its inception, Trivium has released three studio albums, nine singles, and is set to release its fourth studio album, entitled Shogun, on September 30, 2008. Ascendancy, the group's second album is filled with carefully crafted songs that surge with energy, passion, and originality. Like their solid 2003 debut Ember To Inferno, Ascendancy is rooted in '80s and '90s thrash, recalling the glory days of Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, and Testament. Signed to Roadrunner Records, the band has attended major music festivals, including Ozzfest and the Download Festival. While they're currently working their way up the thrash-metal totem pole, they're not planning to settle for reaching any level but the summit of the mountain.
