Perpetual Groove was born in Savannah, GA in 1997. Started by Brock Butler and Adam Perry, they soon added Brett Hinton and Joe Stickney. The band did some light touring in 1999. However, school and part-time jobs kept them from venturing too far from the local scene. After graduation, Brett and Joe left Savannah to pursue careers. In 2001, PGroove added Albert Suttle and Matt McDonald. The quartet quickly developed a following in the Savannah area with their own unique funk-jazz sound. In 2002, the band started to branch out their touring schedule. By 2003, the band was on it’s first national tour, logging almost 70,000 miles on their van in less than a year. The beginning of 2004 found the band on the road again. By this time PGroove had found the perfect combination of jazz, old school groove, and a nice layer of funk.
