Gary Clark Jr. Hits the Road!

Funky, hip and bad ass, Gary Clark Jr. is a rocking soul man for a new generation. His voice weaves between a melodic lilt and a seasoned blues howl with his guitar licks dancing and dodging between and behind the beat as if the essence of Snoop and Dre loom in his head by way of the Mississippi Delta. The virtuosity Clark displays, and the tone he rings from his cherry-red Epiphone Casino guitar, put most modern rock shredders to shame. Welcoming Hello City, an Indigenous Companion to Big Ears

Knoxville, TN has long had one of the most quietly brilliant, unpretentious, and innovative music scenes in the Southeast. The volunteer-run Pilot Light on E. Jackson in the Old City is the community’s point zero for independent, experimental, and outré music and is a longstanding crash point for sympathetic national and international acts.

It makes sense, then, that The Pilot Light should now present the second-annual Hello City Festival—an indigenous companion to Big Ears featuring thirteen of the city’s most interesting musical acts and (two others from nearby for good measure). The Pilot Light will honor Big ...
